This special designed family vacation starts with any day to relax in Dar es Salaam, then game drive safaris in Mikumi National Park and finally game drives and a boat safari on the Wami river in Saadani National Park, Tanzania and East Africa’s only coastal wildlife reserve along the Indian Ocean. A short flight from Saadani leads to an exploration of Zanzibar’s historical Stone Town and relaxation on one of Zanzibar’s finest white sand beaches.
Day 1. Dar Es Salaam
Arrive and transfer to a Hotel. BB.
Day 2. Dar Es Salaam
Day trip to Bongoyo or Mbudya island with options to snorkel. After a tour to Hotel in Dar es Salaam. BB
Day 3. Mikumi National Park
Morning departure with our vehicle and guide to Mikumi National Park, roughly a 5 to 6 hour drive from Dar es Salaam. After lunch game drive safari with the chance to see a huge variety of game and wildlife. Commonly seen species include elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, buffaloes, lions, impalas and several species of antelopes. Dinner and overnight at the Genesis Motel Mikumi.
Day 4. Mikumi National Park
Morning and afternoon game drives in Mikumi National Park. Lunch is taken when back at the motel giving plenty of time for an afternoon relaxation and view of the motel’s famous zooed park. Common species like snakes, crocodiles and other common Tanzanian reptiles. Dinner and overnight at the Genesis Motel Mikumi.
Day 5. Udzungwa Mountains National Park
Morning departure to Udzungwa Mountains National Park about 60 km from Mikumi with our picnic lunch boxes. Hike to the Udzungwa Mountains the famous walking safari in southern Tanzania as you watch the lesser kudu and other famous mammals and reptiles. Late afternoon drive to Udzungwa Mountain View Hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 6. Saadani National Park
Drive to Saadani National Park (approx 6 hours), East African’s only coastal wildlife reserved safari option along the India Ocean, one day safari will be organized by the lodge in Saadani and include morning or afternoon game drives and a stunning boat safari on the Wami river. We expect to see giraffes buffaloes, lions, reedbucks, warthogs, wildebeests and zebras just inland from the deserted beaches and hippoes, crocodiles and a huge variety of birdslife at the river. Dinner and overnight at Saadani Safari Lodge or A Tent with a View Lodge.
Day 7. Saadani National Park
Safari options will be organized by the lodge in Saadani and include morning or afternoon game drives and a stunning boat safari on the Wami river. Lunch, Dinner and overnight at the Saadani Safari Lodge or A Tent with a View Lodge.
Day 8. Zanzibar Stone Town
Fly to Zanzibar just 20 minutes away. Arrive in Stone Town in time for lunch. In the afternoon explore the historical Stone Town. Dinner and overnight at stone town. Nice hotels available.
Day 9. Zanzibar East Coast
Transfer to the north east coast (approximately 1 hour). A spice tour can be organized on route to the beach. Arrive at Breezes Beach Hotel located on the beautiful Bwejuu beach.
Day 10. Zanzibar East Coast
Relax at Breezes, which has a swimming pool, diving centre and can also organize snorkeling trips and water sports, and a kids club facility. Dinner and overnight at the Breezes Beach Resort.
Day 11. Zanzibar East Coast
Relax at Blue bay, or visiting the Jozan Forest, diving with dolphin or going around the Zanzibar’s most popular historical place there after, dinner and overnight at the Breezes Beach Resort.
Day 12. Departure
Transfer back to Stone Town to fly to Dar es Salaam (15 min flight) and connect to your international flight departure.
