The Serengeti Balloon sweeping plains of the Serengeti project nature in its wildest, most exotic form. Perhaps the most dramatic way to enjoy a panoramic view of the Serengeti is the early morning balloon safari that enables one to fly across the plains. Top of the range are the Cameron A 315 balloons, equipped with state of the art ‘whisper bummers” manoeuved by experienced and highly qualified commercial balloon pilots.
Flights by balloon in the Serengeti begin with a drive through the dark of the early morning from the lodge/ campsite. Then as dawn breaks over at about 6.00 a.m, the flight starts in a perfect silence of the early morning plains broken by the soft roar of the balloon. The flight usually takes one hour and culminates in a celebration with champagne and a full English breakfast prepared in the bush and served in style under the shade of umbrella shaped Acacia trees.
